THE SITUATION

Marriage in the African- American community is in trouble. Check the stats, read the reports, call upon the research for divorce and marriage, look at single parents in poverty rates, education vs. incarceration, children growing up without their two biological parents. The effects of the lack of marriage and commitment in the African American community are often more profound than in other communities. Currently the African- American community is slowly recovering from a 40-year spiral in marriage rates. This is a painstaking process that continues to leave many families damaged, hurt and destroyed. In order to prevent the continued downward spiral; we researched both marriage education curricula and marriage education classes that have been held around the country.

THE HOPE

Our hope is to draw the line in the sand and provide safe passage into the land of the married and provide some basic training. Our hope that is marriage rates will continue to rise with renewed and continued success. Our materials are geared towards assisting bad marriages to become better, encourage healthy courtships and dating patterns to later become healthy blended families.

THE BASIC TRAINING CURRICULUM
